Korean Lessons and Courses in London and Online
The official language of both North and South Korea, Korean is spoken by about 63 million people across the globe. The history of the language has seen it evolve steadily over the past 500 years. The Korean alphabet itself was not invented until the 15th century, where the Classical Chinese dialect took precedent. Since the end of the Second World War, however, the status of Chinese characters in contemporary Korean has declined steadily, with the native Hangeul alphabet taking precedence, with this modern script having 14 consonants and 10 vowels and more phonetic than character based.
