BCAT Tutors – Bar Course Aptitude Test
Bar Course Aptitude Test
We also offer specialised and advanced advocacy training sessions to prepare for the BPTC course interview stages, Pupillage applications and interviews as well as primers on mooting and debating. These can sometimes involve key legal methods and skills such as pleas in mitigation exercises, familiarisation with primary legislation and statutory extracts and more broadly just confidence and experience on your feet.
We offer private tuition with experienced teachers whom are also legal professionals for those preparing to take the BCAT exam and those seeking to learn more about Law. If you are preparing for, or considering taking the BCAT, our tutors can help familiarise you with the structure of the exam and offer tips and techniques to improve your performance. We tailor 1-1 BCAT courses and provide all course materials. We also offer private tuition for younger students with a budding interest in the Law and those seeking professional qualifications such as the GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law), LPC (Legal Practice Course) and BPTC (Bar Professional Training Course) for prospective solicitors and barristers. Currently all institutions offering the BPTC course require the BCAT as part of their application and selection procedure as recommended by the Bar Standards Board.
For those applying to the BPTC, there is a requirement to pass the Bar Course Aptitude Test (BCAT) before being allowed to enrol on a BPTC course. The BCAT tests students’ critical thinking and reasoning. These are the core skills required for the BPTC and the test aims to ensure that those undertaking the BPTC have the required skills to succeed. A practice test can be found here and the BCAT Handbook can be downloaded here.
