Law Tutors & Law Courses
Undergraduate & Graduate Law tutors for UK law courses
The law governs much of our daily lives, from property and the environment to public law and finance. Legal frameworks are constantly evolving with advances in society and technology, and they need constant innovation to keep up with and instigate change. Law will therefore always be intrinsic to society, and law students highly valued in the workplace. The knowledge gained from a Law degree will be of interest to those looking to take further qualifying exams with bodies such as the national Bar or Law Society. Law Degrees, BAs or MAs also allow a broader understanding of the impacts of Law, and can incorporate politics, history, economics, and other humanities subjects.
What does a law student study?
Studying law is more than learning landmark cases. It involves developing a holistic view of contemporary issues within society, including business, politics, ethics, and the economy. Forming and defending arguments is a key skill, as well as utilising technical language and drafting legal documents. Law students will become highly skilled researchers and analysts, with confidence in public speaking and understanding how several complex issues link together.
What are the career prospects?
There are many potential paths to take after a Law degree. Typical professions include Barrister, Solicitor, Paralegal, Arbitrator or Costs Lawyer. Having skills in legal studies can also lead students to a wide range of other potential careers such as journalism, policy, data scientist, detective, financier. The many skills developed during the course will be extremely transferable in the workplace. If you are looking to use your skills to make a difference to vulnerable groups, then there also are many opportunities to practice law in the NGO sector. Qualified lawyers can support clients via several organisations such as Lawyers Without Borders or Amnesty International.
