Polish Tutors & Polish Lesson
Polish is a West Slavic language spoken by approximately 45 million Europeans as well as several million Americans. Polish is spoken by 97% of the country’s residents. The geographical reach of Polish was greatly affected by the demographic shifts that followed World War II, when Poles settled in new areas across Europe. Polish is now second only to Russia in terms of being the second-most spoken Slavic language in existence, including large proportions of Belarusians and Lithuanians. Our Polish tutors can help you achieve proficiency in the Polish Language.
The Polish alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet (though Q, V, and X are disregarded) and there are 32 letters with 9 vowels and 23 consonants. Many Polish words can be hard to spell and pronounce as they are full of consonant clusters (such as ‘Szczęście’ which means happiness). The language also has three genders: feminine, masculine and neuter, and it does not rely on regular syntax for its sentence structure. In-depth Polish lessons are essential to overcome these difficulties.
Poland has one of the most diverse natural environments in Europe, including the oldest forest in the continent. It is also the most religious country in Europe, with 90% of its residents being Roman Catholic. Poland’s economy is built on agriculture, mining and manufacturing, and its business culture is hierarchical and formal.
The State Certificate Exam in Polish as a Foreign Language is administered in the UK by the Polward Language School. It has levels ranging from A1 to C2, covering speaking, reading, grammar, writing and listening, and there are preparation courses available. There are also GCSE and A-Level qualifications in Polish offered by AQA.
